Front-to-Rear, Side-to-Side, and Adjustments

  1. Loosen the retainer bolts (3) retaining the rear compartment lid to the rear compartment hinges.
  2. Align the rear compartment lid (1).
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Tighten the bolts (3).
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the retainer bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  6. If further adjustment is necessary, perform the following steps:
  7. • Remove the rear shelf trim panel. Refer to Rear Window Shelf Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
    • Loosen the fasteners that secure the rear compartment trim to the rear shelf.
    • Adjust the rear compartment lid as necessary.
    • Tighten the rear compartment hinge fasteners.

    Tighten
    Tighten the fasteners to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

Up and Down Adjustment at Rear Corners

  1. Loosen the rubber bumpers (2) in order to raise the lid.
  2. Tighten the rubber bumpers (2) in order to lower the compartment lid.
