Driver Door Switch Assembly (DDSA) Internal Details (w/Memory (A45))
Serial Data Class 2 (3 of 3)

Circuit Description

The switch that failed and generated this diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is part of the driver door switch assembly (DDSA). The DDSA contains a microprocessor which takes the ground signal generated by this switch and assigns a digital message to it. The DDSA sends this message over the Serial Data Class 2 line to the passenger front door module (PFDM) and the PFDM then supplies battery voltage and ground to the appropriate circuits of the passenger front door power window motor to move the window Up.

Conditions for Running the DTC

The DDSA must be powered and cannot have DTCs B1327-Battery Low Voltage or B1328-Battery High Voltage set for this DTC to set.

Conditions for Setting the DTC

If the driver door switch assembly (DDSA) receives the message that the switch is grounded for more than 15 continuous seconds, the DDSA sets this DTC.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

The DDSA ignores both UP and Down inputs from the switch for this window until it no longer detects the input , or, the ignition is cycled from OFF to RUN.

Conditions for Clearing the DTC

    • The DDSA clears the current code when it does not receive the input for 6 seconds.
    • Use the scan tool in order to clear the history code.
    • Use the On-Board diagnostics to clear the history code.

Diagnostic Aids

A sticking switch can cause this DTC to set.

Test Description

The numbers below refer to the step numbers on the diagnostic table.

  1. Checks the existing state of the passenger front door window switch on the driver door switch assembly by using the current state of the input parameter.
