DEFINITION: This diagnostic is for a heated steering wheel indicator that will not turn on or off.

Did you review the Heated Steering Wheel operation and perform the necessary inspections?

Go to Step 2

Verify the fault is present.

Does the system operate normally?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections

Go to Step 3

Remove the heated steering wheel switch and check the indicator for continuity. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring.

Did you find continuity in the switch?

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 6

Inspect for poor connections at the heated steering wheel switch. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 7

Go to Step 5

Replace the heated steering wheel switch. Refer to Steering Wheel Control Switch Assembly Replacement in the Steering Wheel and Column.

Did you complete the replacement?

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
