4.6L L37 LD8 Engine PCM (P7 Controller) Parts Restriction through PQC - kw number part

When servicing the vehicle with the VIN you entered, the following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the described symptoms.

A Parts Restriction on the PCM (P7 controller) will be taking place on the 2004 Cadillac Deville and Seville equipped with the 4.6L (L37) (LD8) North Star Engine. The restriction will start on Monday February 16, 2004. The Restricted PCM part number is 12587465. PCM part number 12587465 will be restricted through the PQC (Product Quality Center) and Engineering is looking for approximately 100 pieces.

Product Quality Center will be asking your technicians to tell us what diagnostic tree they used, what reading they took and what was the value of that reading. They may also ask the technician to do some tests or take some readings out of the normal diagnostic process. We will be allowing additional time for the technician, if we ask them, to do anything above and beyond what is considered the normal diagnostic procedure. Even if you have this specific module in inventory, please have the technician contact PQC at 1-866-654-7654. We have done similar restrictions on PCMs and EBCMs, and the data we collected has lead to a number of design and diagnostic improvements that will help us reduce the causes of customer complaints and improve the diagnostic charts in our electronic service manual. We do limit the number of these we run at one time because we know the impact it has on your business.
