When servicing the vehicle with the VIN you entered, the following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the described symptoms.

Condition/Concern:

Some 2004 Deville and Seville built before December 2003 may experience a crank, no start condition. The vehicle may have some or all of these PCM codes as well P0118, P0122, P0335 ,P0340, P0385 and P0412. There may also be other PCM codes present.

Recommendation/Instructions:

  1. Disconnect /reconnect the negative battery cable and then see if the car will start.
  2. If the engine does not start, remove the PCM connectors and reinstall them to the PCM. Make sure the connector is fully seated before the locking slide is engaged. It is possible to have the PCM connector slide in the lock position with out having the connector completely seated into the PCM.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. If these steps do not resolve the condition, please contact GM TAC for further diagnostic assistance. This diagnostic approach was developed for the vehicle with the VIN you entered and should not be automatically be used for other vehicles with similar symptoms.
