SOME OWNERS MAY COMMENT OF NOISE, POPPING, OR SLIGHT MOVEMENT IN THE FRONT SEAT BOTTOM. THIS IS MOST LIKELY TO OCCUR DURING ACCELERATION OR DECELERATION OF THE VEHICLE.
THIS CONDITION IS DUE TO THE LOOSENESS OF RIVETS CONNECTING THE SEAT BOTTOM FRAME TO THE SEAT ADJUSTER LIFT BRACKETS.
TO CORRECT THIS CONDITION USE THE FOLLOWING PROCEDURE:
1. REMOVE SEAT FROM VEHICLE. REFER TO SECTION 10-10 OF THE APPROPRIATE SERVICE INFORMATION MANUAL.
2. REMOVE FRONT JACKSCREW NUTS (TWO PER SEAT). REFER TO FIGURE 1.
3. PLACE ONE SPRING BRACKET, P/N 16749281, ON EACH LIFT BRACKET. PLACE JACKSCREW THROUGH HOLE IN SPRING BRACKET FOR POSITIVE LOCATION. SPRING BRACKET SHOULD FIT FLUSH TO RIVET HEAD. REFER TO FIGURE 2.
4. APPLY LOCTITE(R), P/N 12345382 (GM SPEC 9985283), ON JACKSCREW AND JACKSCREW NUT.
5. HOLDING SPRING BRACKET IN PLACE, TORQUE JACKSCREW NUT TO 2.7-6.9 N.M (24-60 LBS. IN.).
6. REINSTALL SEAT IN VEHICLE.
PARTS ARE EXPECTED TO BE AVAILABLE FROM GMSPO ON SEPTEMBER 27, 1993.
FOR WARRANTY PURPOSES USE LABOR OPERATION T6738 AT .6 HOUR FOR PASSENGER SIDE AND LABOR OPERATION T6739 AT .6 HOUR FOR DRIVER SIDE.
