FRT. FENDER INSULATOR OUT OF POSITION (REPOSITION)

SOME 1992 ELDORADOS AND SEVILLES MAY EXPERIENCE THE FRONT FENDER INSULATOR MISPOSITIONED, THIS RESULTS IN REDUCED ACOUSTICAL DAMPENING OR A POOR APPEARANCE.

TO REPAIR THIS CONDITION PERFORM THE FOLLOWING PROCEDURE:

1. RAISE VEHICLE ON HOIST.

2. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL.

3. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL HOUSE EXTENSION. REFER TO SECTION 10-5 OF THE 1992 ELDORADO/SEVILLE NEW PRODUCT SERVICE INFORMATION MANUAL.

4. REPOSITION FRONT FENDER INSULATOR BY PUSHING ON OUTBOARD EDGE OF THE INSULATOR REARWARD UNTIL THE INSULATOR CONTACTS THE REAR UPPER FENDER REINFORCEMENT. THE OUTBOARD EDGE SHOULD BE ALIGNED JUST REARWARD OF THE LARGE ELONGATED UPPER MOTOR COMPARTMENT RAIL ACCESS HOLES. REFER TO FIGURE 1.

NOTE: CARE MUST BE TAKEN TO ENSURE THE INSULATOR IS NOT LOCATED TOO FAR REARWARD THUS CAUSING THE FRONT DOOR LOWER AUXILIARY WEATHER STRIP INTERFERENCE.

5. ON VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH SUN ROOFS, A 25MM X 25MM PIECE OF INSULATOR MUST BE REMOVED IN ORDER TO ENSURE THE DRAIN TUBE IS FUNCTIONING AS DESIGNED AND NOT PINCHED OFF BY THE INSULATOR. REFER TO FIGURE 1.

6. REPLACE FRONT WHEEL HOUSE PANEL EXTENSION.

7. REPLACE FRONT WHEEL.

8. LOWER VEHICLE ON THE HOIST.

FOR WARRANTY PURPOSES USE LABOR OPERATION T6595 FOR LEFT AND T6596 FOR RIGHT AT .5 HOUR EACH SIDE.
