SOME 1992 ELDORADOS AND SEVILLES MAY EXPERIENCE A NOISE IN THE FRONT END WHEN GOING OVER ROUGH PAVEMENT OR SMALL BUMPS AT SLOW SPEEDS (15-20 MPH). THE NOISE IS GENERALLY REPORTED AS A HOLLOW RUMBLE OR LOOSE LUMBER NOISE IN THE RIGHT FRONT OF THE VEHICLE.
TO REPAIR THIS CONDITION REPLACE BOTH UPPER STRUT MOUNTS WITH 1993 STRUT MOUNT, P/N 22145409, PER THE PROCEDURES IN SERVICE INFORMATION MANUAL, SECTION 3C. BEFORE REMOVING THE SPRING AND STRUT ASSEMBLY FROM THE VEHICLE, SCRIBE THE STEERING KNUCKLE WHICH WILL ELIMINATE THE NEED FOR A CAMBER ADJUSTMENT AFTER THE PROCEDURE IS PERFORMED.
PARTS ARE EXPECTED TO BE AVAILABLE ON MAY 17, 1993.
FOR WARRANTY PURPOSES USE LABOR OPERATION E3927 AT 1.5 HOURS. FOR ALIGNMENT TIMES REFER TO OPERATION E2020 AND ADD THE APPLICABLE TIMES TO THE REGULAR HOURS COLUMN.
