Refer to Fuel Fill Door Description and Operation in Body Rear End.
The INFO (SKIP) button is used in order to scroll up and down to the next DIC display parameter.
The INFO RESET (NO) button is used in order to acknowledge the currently displayed DIC message or reset the currently displayed DIC parameter. When a parameter that can not be reset is displayed, and the INFO RESET (NO) button is pressed, the DIC enters the recall mode. When in the recall mode the DIC displays any indicators messages that have been enabled during the last ignition cycle. If no indicator messages have been enabled, the MONITORED SYSTEMS OK indicator is displayed.
The TRIP RESET (YES) is used in order to view the trip odometer parameter. Press and hold the TRIP RESET (YES) button in order to reset the trip odometer to zero.
Refer to Luggage Compartment Description and Operation in Body Rear End.

The vehicle information display parameters are available to the driver during the RUN power mode. The driver navigates through the various parameters displayed on the driver information center (DIC) using the INFO (SKIP) button. Some parameters can be reset using the INFO RESET (NO) button.
Some parameters require information from other modules via class 2 serial data messages. If the instrument cluster (IPC) has not received data for a parameter when the time has come to display the parameter, the IPC will blank the data on the DIC. If the IPC has determined that a class 2 communication failure with one of the modules exists when the time has come to display the parameter, the IPC will display dashes on the DIC.
The vehicle information display parameters are displayed in the following order:
The fuel range is the estimated distance that the vehicle can travel under the current fuel economy and fuel level conditions. The fuel range parameter cannot be reset by the driver. The fuel range parameter is displayed on the DIC in one of the following formats:
• | RANGE XXX MILES |
• | RANGE XXX km |
• | LO RANGE |
The XXX represents the calculated range value. The units of the display will correspond to the current instrument cluster setting. The LO RANGE message is displayed when the range is calculated to be less than 65 km (40 miles).
The average fuel economy is a function of distance divided by fuel used since the parameter was last reset. When the average fuel economy is displayed on the DIC, pressing the INFO RESET (NO) button on the DIC will reset the average fuel economy parameter. The average fuel economy parameter is displayed on the DIC in one of the following formats:
• | XX.X MPG AVG |
• | XX.X L/100km AVG |
The XX.X represents the calculated average fuel economy value. The units of the display will correspond to the current instrument cluster setting. The DIC will display 0.0 for the English mode and 99.9 for the metric mode when the parameter is reset.
The instantaneous fuel economy is a function of distance divided by fuel used over a short period of time. The instantaneous fuel economy cannot be reset by the driver. The instantaneous fuel economy parameter is displayed on the DIC in one of the following formats:
• | XX MPG INST |
• | XX L/100km INST |
The XX represents the calculated instantaneous fuel economy value. The units of the display will correspond to the current instrument cluster setting. The DIC will display 0 for the English mode and 99 for the metric mode after the battery has been disconnected and then reconnected.
The fuel used parameter is the amount of fuel that has been used since the last parameter reset. When the fuel used is displayed on the DIC, pressing the INFO RESET (NO) button on the DIC will reset the fuel used parameter. The fuel used parameter is displayed on the DIC in one of the following formats:
• | XX.X GAL FUEL USED |
• | XXX.X L FUEL USED |
The XXX.X represents the calculated fuel used value. The units of the display will correspond to the current instrument cluster setting. The DIC will display a range from 0.0 to 99.9 GAL in the English mode and from 0.0 to 999.9 L for the metric mode.
The average vehicle speed is a function of the vehicle speed over the time since the parameter was last reset. When the average vehicle speed is displayed on the DIC, pressing the INFO RESET (NO) button on the DIC will reset the average vehicle speed parameter. The average vehicle speed parameter is displayed on the DIC in one of the following formats:
• | XXX.X AVG MPH |
• | XX.X AVG km/h |
The XXX.X represents the calculated average vehicle speed value. The units of the display will correspond to the current instrument cluster setting.
The battery voltage parameter cannot be reset by the driver. The voltage is displayed on the DIC in the following format XX.X BATTERY VOLTS. The XX.X represents the supplied battery voltage value. The battery voltage value will range between 9.0 and 17.0 volts.
The engine oil life parameter is calculated by the powertrain control module (PCM) and the information is provide to the IPC via class 2 serial data messages. When the engine oil life is displayed on the DIC, pressing the INFO RESET button on the DIC for 5 seconds will reset the engine oil life parameter. The engine oil life is displayed as XXX% OIL LIFE LEFT. The XXX represents the calculated engine oil life value. The value will range between 100% and 0%. When the engine oil life parameter reaches 0% the CHANGE ENGINE OIL indicator is displayed on the DIC.
This function allows the driver to change the IPC displays between English and metric units. When the english/metric reset message is displayed on the DIC, pressing the INFO RESET (NO) button on the DIC changes the current setting.
The timer is used to record elapsed time. When the timer is displayed on the DIC, pressing and holding the INFO RESET (NO) button on the DIC will reset the timer. The timer is started and stopped by momentarily pressing the INFO RESET (NO) button on the DIC. The timer is displayed on the DIC in one of the following formats:
• | XX:XX:XX TIMER (ON) |
• | XX:XX:XX TIMER (OFF) |
The first XX represents hours elapsed, the second XX represents minutes elapsed, and the third XX presents seconds elapsed. The ON or OFF is a fixed display on the DIC and indicated whether the timer is currently running. The maximum range of the timer is 99 hours, 59 minutes, and 59 seconds. After the maximum range is reached, timer will roll-over and display all zeros (00:00:00).
Personalization features may be set for the vehicle or the driver. Vehicle features do not change with each driver. Specific drivers are recognized by the vehicle through the keyless entry transmitters, the memory buttons, or the driver information center (DIC).
For more information on personalization features for this vehicle, refer to Personalization Description and Operation in Personalization.
