Intermittent Driver Window Inoperative after Express Down Activation

When servicing the vehicle with the VIN you entered, the following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the described symptoms.

Intermittent driver window inoperative after express down activation.

When express down is initiated, the switch does not remove power from motor circuit at bottom of travel. Current remains flowing until motor internal circuit protection opens. Window is then inoperative until switch is cycled and circuit protection cools.

There is a limited date code range of switches that function properly. Locate replacement switch with date code of 0328. A good switch can be identified by an audible click approximately one second after express down is used and window stops at bottom of travel.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
