Removal Procedure
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
in General Information.
- Remove the tire and wheel. Refer
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
in Tires and Wheels.
- Remove the toe link bolt
from the knuckle and discard. The bolt is not reusable.
- Remove the toe-link-to-suspension-support bolt and nut.
- Remove the toe link.
Installation Procedure
- Install the toe-link-to-suspension-support
bolt and nut. Do not tighten the bolt at this time.
- Install the new toe link outer bolt. Do not tighten the bolt at
this time.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Support the outboard end of the lower control arm with a screw jack
in order to bring the suspension to design position. The toe link must
be tightened in design position in order to reduce wind up in the bushings.

Tighten
• | Tighten the outer toe link bolt to 75 N·m (55 lb ft). |
• | Tighten the inner toe link nut to 57 N·m (42 lb ft). |
- Install the tire and wheel. Refer to
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
in Tires and Wheels.
- Lower the vehicle.
