GM Service Manual Online
For 1990-2009 cars only

The frame is secured to the body, with frame-to-body mounts and bolts. The engine, front suspension and lower control arms are fastened to the body frame.

The chassis components, the suspension lower control arms and body frame, the body components, and the engine compartment side panels, share mounting provisions with the front suspension system. The suspension towers must be dimensionally correct in relation to the remainder of the underbody in order to maintain specified suspension strut and caster/camber angles. Proper anti-corrosion and sealing is required of all underbody components when the repair procedure damages the original anti-corrosion materials. Use a quality air dry primer such as corrosion-resistant chromate when sealing critical underbody components. Do not use combination type primer-surfaces.
