Removal Procedure
- Cycle the glass panel to the rear.
Important: Do not remove the forward pins. The forward pins hold the wind deflector
springs in place.
- Carefully remove the tape covering the rear deflector pins on both sides
of the wind deflector.
- Using a small flat-bladed
tool and a pocket magnet, remove the E-clips (2) securing the pins (1)
to the deflector arms.
- Apply downward pressure
on both sides of the deflector arms in order to remove the four rearward pins (1,2)
from the deflector arms.
- Lift the deflector (3) forward.
- Remove the 8 fasteners
securing the front rail assembly to the sunroof housing.
- Pull the rail upward in order to release the straps from the rail.
- Remove the wind deflector assembly from the sunroof housing.
Installation Procedure
- Position the deflector
plate to the sunroof housing assembly.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the screws
in order to retain the front rail to the roof housing assembly.
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 3 N·m (27 lb in).
Important: Ensure the forward retainer springs are positioned under the deflector
arms properly.
- Position the deflector arms to the sunroof housing.
- Apply downward pressure in order to install the 4 rearward
pins (1) through the wind deflector arms.
- Install the pins.
- Engage the E-clips (2)
to the pins (1).
- Secure the tape over the pins.
- Close the sunroof window.
