Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the hood primary latch. Refer to Hood Primary Latch Replacement .
  2. Remove the ambient temperature sensor. Refer to Ambient Air Temperature Sensor Replacement in HVAC System-Automatic.
  3. Remove the power steering cooler pipe bolt at the hood latch support. Refer to Power Steering Cooler Pipe/Hose Replacement in Power Steering System.

  4. Object Number: 366313  Size: SH
  5. Remove the nuts (3) and the bolts (1) that retain the hood latch support (2).
  6. Remove the center support (2).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 366313  Size: SH
  1. Install the hood latch support (2).
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the nuts (3) and the bolts (1).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts and the bolts to 12 N·m (106 lb in).

  5. Install the bolt that retains the power steering cooler to the hood latch support. Refer to Power Steering Cooler Pipe/Hose Replacement in Power Steering System.
  6. Install the ambient temperature sensor. Refer to Ambient Air Temperature Sensor Replacement in HVAC System-Automatic.
  7. Install the hood primary latch. Refer to Hood Primary Latch Replacement .
  8. Adjust the latch as needed. Refer to Hood Latch Adjustment .
