Removal Procedure
- Remove the front wheel assembly. Refer to
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
in Tires and Wheels.
- Remove the front fascia extension. Refer to
Front Bumper Fascia Extension Replacement
in Bumpers.
- Remove the fasteners (2, 3)
retaining the front wheelhouse liner (1) to the upper fender.
- Remove the fasteners (4) from the lower rocker panel.
- Remove the two upper fasteners to the front extension.
- Remove the front wheelhouse liner (1) from the inner fender.
Installation Procedure
- Install the front wheelhouse
liner (1) to the inner fender.
- Install the upper fender fastener (5) in order to locate
and hold the front wheelhouse liner (1) to the inner fender.
- Install the fasteners (3) in order to secure the extension
to wheelhouse.
- Install the two upper fasteners to the front extension.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the fasteners (4) in order to secure the front
wheelhouse liner (1) to the rocker panel molding.
Tighten
Tighten the fasteners to 2 N·m (18 lb in).
- Install the front fascia extension. Refer to
Front Bumper Fascia Extension Replacement
in Bumpers.
- Install the front wheel assembly. Refer to
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
in Tires and Wheels.
