Enclosed are two copies of a completely revised Warranty and Transportation Claim Preparation Manual along with binders and tabs. This manual has been completely rewritten in order to provide the most comprehensive up-to-date information required for proper claim preparation and reconciliation. We strongly recommend that all dealership personnel responsible for preparation, submission and reconciliation of Warranty and Transportation Claims thoroughly review the manual.
The new Warranty and Transportation Claim Preparation Manual contains important information about such areas as:
(1) Warranty coverages. (2) Value Protection Plan administration. (3) Warranty applications within the Dealer Commitment System (DCS). (4) Understanding the Labor Time Guide. (5) Labor Operations and applicable policy codes.
Additionally, the manual has been developed in a looseleaf format which will allow for more frequent updates.
Additional copies of the revised Warranty and Transportation Claim Preparation Manual (Cat. No. S-2003) can be ordered through Cadillac Stationary Control in the normal manner. A limited quantity of binders and tabs (Cat. No. S-2004) will also be available at a nominal cost of $4.00.
We are confident that this new manual will be a valuable training aid for all personnel (experienced and inexperienced) responsible for Warranty and Transportation claim preparation and reconciliation. We will be providing updates to the manual as necessary. Therefore, we are urging dealer personnel to review the manual carefully and inform us if there is any additional areas that should be considered for inclusion in future updates. General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
