Some 19B7 De Villes and Fleetwoods may experience loose trim lace at the front door exterior frame moulding. This condition may be caused by excessive gap between the moulding lace and the front door (compare figures 1 and 2).
To repair this condition, use the following procedure:
1. Remove door trim panel as specified on page 5C-1 of the 1987 Body Service Manual.
2. Remove outside mirror as specified on page 5C-25 of the 1987 Body Service Manual.
3. Remove front door outer frame moulding as specified on page 5C-9 of the 1987 Body Service Manual.
4. Using a razor blade or, equivalent, remove the inside lip of the trim lace at the forward radius of the outer frame moulding as shown in figure 3.
5. Bond the lace" to the moulding with several drops of Loctite Quick Gel, SGG-A or equivalent.
6. Reinstall front door outer rdoulding as specified on page 5C-9 of the Body Service Manual.
7. Reinstall outside mirror as specified on page 5C-25 of the 1987 Body Manual.
8. Reinstall door trim panel as specified on page 5C-1 of the Body Service Manual.
