Subject: 2004 Cadillac SRX LY7 V6 Only - Coolant Leak and/or Damage at the Lower Radiator Hose

Models:.

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the described symptoms in the PI.

Condition/Concern:

Coolant leak and/or damage at the lower radiator hose on LY7 V6 ONLY.

Recommendation/Instructions:

During the coolant fill process at the assembly plant, a vacuum test is performed to check for system leaks. During this vacuum process, the lower hose could collapse and pop out of the C-shaped bracket at the lower front of the engine and be out of position. This has been immediately resolved as of November 7, 2003 through a process change and verifications during this activity. When servicing for delivery a new SRX equipped with the high feature V6 engine built prior to November 7, 2003, verify that this inlet hose is seated in its bracket away from the crankshaft pulley.

.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. If these steps do not resolve the condition, please contact GM TAC for further diagnostic assistance.
