Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 130763  Size: SH
  1. Drain the engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
  2. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls.
  3. Disconnect the surge tank inlet hose (1).

  4. Remove the surge tank mounting screw and nuts.
  5. Disconnect the low coolant sensor (1).

  6. Object Number: 130763  Size: SH
  7. Disconnect the surge tank outlet hose (2).
  8. Remove the surge tank.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 130763  Size: SH
  1. Connect the surge tank outlet hose to the surge tank (2).

  2. Object Number: 130765  Size: SH
  3. Install the surge tank.
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the surge tank fasteners.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the surge tank fasteners to 6 N·m (53 lb in).

  7. Connect the low coolant sensor (1).

  9. Connect the surge tank inlet hose (1).
  10. Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls.
  11. Fill the engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
