Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 284266  Size: SH
  1. Remove the serpentine belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement in Engine Mechanical.
  2. Drain the power steering fluid from the reservoir.
  3. Disconnect the return fluid line from the reservoir.

  4. Object Number: 284268  Size: SH
  5. Remove the pressure pipe from the pump.

  6. Object Number: 284267  Size: SH
  7. Remove the pump mounting bolt.

  8. Object Number: 105222  Size: SH
  9. Remove the pump, reservoir, pulley, and bracket assembly from the vehicle

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 105222  Size: SH
  1. Position the pump, reservoir, pulley and bracket assembly into the vehicle.

  2. Object Number: 284267  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the power steering pump mounting bolt.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the mounting bolt to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  5. Install the pressure pipe to pump.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten pressure pipe to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).

  7. Install the return hose to the reservoir.
  8. Install the serpentine belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement in Engine Mechanical.
  9. Fill the power steering system. Refer to Refilling the Power Steering System .
  10. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .
