Was the Tilt/Telescoping Steering Column System Check performed?

  1. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
  2. Disconnect the steering column tilt/telescoping module (TTM) connector C1.
  3. Connect a DDM set to DC volts scale between the TTM connector C1 terminal E and ground.

Is the measured voltage in the range shown?

10--15V

Go to Step 4

Repair open in CKT 2840 (ORN).

Is the circuit repair complete?

Go to Step 11

Connect a DMM between the TTM connector C1 terminal D and ground.

Is the measured voltage in the range shown?

10--15V

Go to Step 6

Repair open in CKT 2940 (ORN).

Is the circuit repair complete?

--

Connect a DDM between the TTM connector C1 terminal C and battery positive voltage (B+).

Is the measured voltage in the range shown?

10--15V

Connect a DDM between ground splice pack G200 terminal J and battery positive voltage (B+).

Is the measured voltage in the range shown?

10--15V

Repair open CKT 350 (BLK).

Is the circuit repair complete?

Check that ground terminal G200 is clean and tight. If OK, replace ground splice pack G200.

Is the replacement complete?

  1. Check the steering column tilt/telescoping module (TTM) connector C1 for poor terminal contact.
  2. If OK, replace the TTM. Refer to Tilt/Telescoping Module Replacement .
  3. After replacement, reset the soft stops. Refer to Steering Column Control Module Programming .

  1. Make sure any components removed during diagnosis are installed in place and that all connectors are connected.
  2. Repeat the system check. Refer to Tilt/Telescoping Steering Column System Check .

Is the system check complete?
