The dual zone A/C system is an electrically controlled heating, ventilating and air conditioning system. This system allows the driver and passenger the ability to adjust discharge temperature of the system independently.

The following aspects are controlled by the system:

    • The mode.
    • The compressor clutch operation.
    • The fan operation.
    • The discharge temperature.

The driver may select a desired interior temperature, a fan speed and one of five different modes of operation from the system control system.

One of these modes is a fully automatic dual zone mode which determines the following conditions (set by the driver):

    • The approximate air intake.
    • The discharge locations.
    • The fan speed.
    • The discharge air temperature.

The passenger side of the vehicle contains a separate control knob on the control assembly that can increase or decrease air discharge temperature for the passenger side of the vehicle.

The following settings are remembered as part of personalization:

    • Driver set temperature.
    • Passenger set temperature.
    • Dual zone status.
    • Air delivery mode.
    • Fan speed.
    • Compressor operation (A/C ON/OFF).
