DEFINITION: The outside air temperature displayed on driver information center control is inaccurate. No DTCs are set by the instrument panel module (IPM).

  1. The engine must be cool.
  2. Install the Scan Tool .
  3. Display the ambient air temperature.

Does the temperature displayed on the Scan Tool match the temperature displayed on the control assembly?

  1. Remove the ambient air temperature sensor.
  2. Measure resistance of the sensor.

Is the resistance measured with the specified value?

Go to Sensor Resistance Table

Replace the ambient air temperature sensor.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Inspect the IPM for proper terminal connection.
  2. If the terminal connection is OK, replace the IPM. Refer to Control Assembly Replacement .
