Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 105516  Size: SH
  1. Remove left sound insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement .
  2. Remove knee bolster trim panel. Refer to Driver Knee Bolster Panel Replacement .
  3. Remove the DLC (1) from knee bolster.
  4. Remove the lap cooler duct.
  5. Remove four fasteners (2) securing knee bolster reinforcement to the IP lower.
  6. Remove knee bolster reinforcement (3).

Installation Procedure

  1. Align knee bolster reinforcement (3) to lower IP and install fasteners.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the four fasteners (2) from knee bolster reinforcement to the IP lower.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the fasteners to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  5. Install the DLC (1) to the knee bolster.
  6. Install the lap cooler duct.
  7. Install knee bolster trim panel. Refer to Driver Knee Bolster Panel Replacement .
  8. Install left sound insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement .
