Was the Wiper/Washer Diagnostic System Check performed?

  1. Disconnect the harness connector from the wiper motor assembly.
  2. Turn the ignition to RUN.
  3. Set the wiper switch to HI.
  4. Connect a test light from the wiper motor connector (harness side) terminal D to ground.

Is the test light on?

Go to Step 3

  1. Turn the ignition OFF.
  2. Remove the wiper motor cover. Refer to Wiper Motor Cover Replacement . Observe the position of wiper motor cover terminal T1.
  3. Connect a jumper from the wiper motor housing to ground.
  4. Connect a fused jumper (10 amp) from battery voltage to the wiper motor terminal that connects to wiper motor cover terminal T1.

Is the wiper motor operating?

Replace the wiper motor cover. Refer to Wiper Motor Cover Replacement .

Is the replacement complete?

Replace the wiper motor. Refer to Wiper Motor Cover Replacement .

Check for open circuit condition in CKT 92.

Is an open circuit condition present?

Repair the open circuit condition in CKT 92.

Is the repair complete?

Replace the wiper/washer switch assembly. Refer to Windshield Wiper and Washer Switch Replacement .
