There is a two minute time period marked in this section of tape for the purpose of checking the cassette tape motor speed. Use this portion of the diagnostic tape to verify complaints of abnormal sound from the cassette tape player. Improper tape motor speed can in some cases cause audio abnormalities. The tape motor speed is within tolerance if the time taken for this is between one minute and fifty-six seconds to two minutes and one second.
