- Connect a scan tool to the Data Link Connector (DLC).
- Ignition switch ON.
- Select the SIR system on the scan tool.
- Select the Data List Inputs function.
- View the status of the seat belt switch input.
Is the input UNBUCKLED with the safety belt unbuckled and BUCKLED with
the safety belt buckled?

- Ignition switch OFF.
- Disconnect the Sensing snd Diagnostic Module (SDM) connector.
- Using a DMM, measure the resistance the SDM harness connector
terminal 1 to ground.
Does the resistance vary between the specified values with the safety
belt unbuckled and buckled?

- Disconnect the LH front seat belt switch connector.
- Using a DMM, measure resistance from SDM connector terminal 1
to ground.
Is resistance less than specified value?
