The dash integration module (DIM) determines the ignition switch status (OFF, RUN, etc.) by monitoring connector C1 terminals A1, A2, A3, B1 and B2. When the DIM determines that the ignition switch has been turned to OFF it sends a class 2 serial data message to the radio, LH front door module (LFDM), rear integration module (RIM) and cellular telephone module (if equipped) to enable RAP. After approximately 10 minutes the DIM sends another class 2 serial data massage to disable RAP.

The DIM receives door status (OPEN, CLOSED, etc.) from the LFDM by a class 2 serial data line message. When the DIM determines that a passenger compartment door has been opened it sends out a class 2 serial data message to disable RAP, regardless of the elapsed time.
