Power Door Locks Switch Inoperative - One Driver

DEFINITION: The door locks do not function properly from the driver's door switch. The other switches function properly.

Was the entire Power Door System Diagnostic Systems Check performed?

  1. Disconnect the LH front power door lock switch connector.
  2. Using a DMM, measure the resistance between the LH front power door lock switch terminals C and D while pressing the switch in the lock position.
  3. Using a DMM, measure the resistance between the LH front power door lock switch terminals C and E while pressing the switch in the unlock position.

Is the resistance within the specified range?

0-5 ohms

Go to Step 4

Replace the LH front power door lock switch. Refer to Front Door Switch Replacement .

Is the replacement complete?

  1. Disconnect the LH front power window switch connector.
  2. Using a DMM, measure the resistance between the LH front power door lock switch harness connector terminal D and the LH front power window switch harness connector terminal 7.

Is the resistance within the specified range?

0-5 ohms

Go to Step 6

Repair the open or high resistance in CKT 780 (RED/BLK). Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Using a DMM, measure the resistance between the LH front power door lock switch harness connector terminal E and the LH front power window switch harness connector terminal 6.

Is the resistance within the specified range?

0-5 ohms

Go to Step 8

Repair the open or high resistance in CKT 781 (ORN/BLK) . Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Using a DMM, measure the resistance between the LH front power door lock switch harness connector terminal C and the LH front power window switch harness connector terminal 1.

Is the resistance within the specified range?

0-5 ohms

Go to Step 10

Repair the open or high resistance in CKT 351 (BLK/WHT) . Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Disconnect the suspect power door lock switch connector.
  2. Using a DMM, measure the resistance between the power door lock switch terminals C and D while pressing the switch in the lock position.
  3. For the RH front door only, using a DMM, measure the resistance between the RH front power door lock switch terminals C and E while pressing the switch in the unlock position.

Is the resistance within the specified range?

0-5 ohms

Go to Step 4

Replace the power door lock switch. Refer to Door Lock Switch Replacement .

Is the replacement complete?

  1. Disconnect the suspect door module connector C1.
  2. Using a DMM, measure the resistance between the power door lock switch harness connector terminal D and the door module harness connector terminal 1.

Is the resistance within the specified range?

0-5 ohms

Repair the open or high resistance in CKT 244 (LT BLU). Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Using a DMM, measure the resistance between the power door lock switch harness connector terminal C and the door module harness connector terminal 10.

Is the resistance within the specified range?

0-5 ohms

Repair the open or high resistance in CKT 451 (BLK/WHT) (RH) or CKT 551 (TAN/WHT) (LH rear). Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

For the RH front door only, using a DMM, measure the resistance between the RH front power door lock switch harness connector terminal E and the RH front door module (RFDM) harness connector terminal 2.

Is the resistance within the specified range or the suspect door in the rear?

0-5 ohms

Repair the open or high resistance in CKT 245 (DK BLU). Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?
