The mirror select switch on the LH front power window switch is placed in L or R to indicate the mirror to be moved. The LH front power window switch receives the active high input from the mirror select switch and also receives an active high input from the mirror switch when the switch is actuated. The four mirror switch contacts are in the corners of the switch. The contacts are left-up, left-down, right-up, and right-down. When the mirror switch is actuated in a direct up, down, left, or right direction, the switch hit two of the contacts. The LH front power window switch recognizes the two contact input as a one direction input in the direction common to the two inputs. The LH front power window switch then sends a message on the Simple Bus Interface (SBI) to the LH front door module (LFDM) or RH front door module (RFDM) depending on the position of the mirror select switch indicating that the mirror switch need to be moved. Each mirror has two reversible motors that the door modules control by supplying Battery Positive Voltage (B+) and ground to these motors.

Memory Mirrors -- Parallel Parking Mode

The left front door module (LFDM) communicates with the powertrain control module (PCM) over the class 2 data link. When the gear selector is shifted to reverse. The PCM will transmit a class 2 message to the LFDM. The LFDM will send this message on to the right front door module (RFDM) over the simple bus interface (SBI). the RFDM will tilt the RH outside power mirror down 7 degrees. This allows the driver to see the curb while parallel parking.
