Removal Procedure

Tools Required

J 41358-A Torque Rod Adjuster.

  1. Open the rear compartment lid.
  2. Remove the rear compartment lid. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Replacement .
  3. Remove the rear seat cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement .
  4. Remove the rear seat back. Refer to Rear Seat Back Replacement .
  5. Remove the rear shelf panel. Refer to Rear Window Shelf Trim Panel Replacement .

  6. Object Number: 333514  Size: SH
  7. Note adjuster notch that torque rod is in for reassembly.
  8. Remove the torque rods using J 41358-A Torque Rod Adjuster.

  9. Object Number: 105327  Size: SH
  10. Remove the nuts (1) retaining the forward edge of the rear compartment lid hinge (3) to the vehicle.
  11. Remove the bolts (2) retaining the rear edge of the rear compartment lid hinge (3) to the vehicle.
  12. Remove the rear compartment lid hinge.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 105327  Size: SH
  1. Install the rear compartment lid hinge.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the nuts (1) to retain the forward edge of the rear compartment lid hinge (3) to the vehicle.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 25 N·m  (18 lb ft).

  5. Install the bolts (2) to retain the rear edge of the rear compartment lid hinge (3) to the vehicle.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 25 N·m  (18 lb ft).

  7. Install the torque rods using J 41358-A Torque Rod Adjuster.
  8. Install the rear compartment lid. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Replacement .
  9. Check and adjust the rear compartment lid for the following:
  10. • Fore and aft adjustment at the rear compartment lid hinge attachments.
    • Up and down adjustment at rear compartment lid latch, striker and hinges.
    • Torque rod free rise of the rear compartment lid.
  11. Install the rear shelf panel. Refer to Rear Window Shelf Trim Panel Replacement .
  12. Install the rear seat back. Refer to Rear Seat Back Replacement .
  13. Install the rear seat cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement .
  14. Close the rear compartment lid.
