VARIOUS DOOR FUNCTIONS DO NOT OPERATE PROPERLY

THIS BULLETIN IS BEING REVISED TO CHANGE LABOR OPERATION INFORMATION. PLEASE DISCARD CORPORATE BULLETIN NUMBER 83-81-26 (SECTION 8 - CHASSIS/BODY ELECTRICAL) ______________________________________________________________________

SUBJECT: VARIOUS DOOR FUNCTIONS DO NOT OPERATE PROPERLY (REPLACE ALL DOOR MODULES)

MODELS: 1998 CADILLAC SEVILLE - BUILT PRIOR TO VIN BREAKPOINT 917805

CONDITION:

SOME CUSTOMERS MAY COMMENT THAT VARIOUS DOOR FUNCTIONS DO NOT OPERATE PROPERLY AND MAY EXPERIENCE ONE OR MORE OF THE FOLLOWING:

1. WINDOW MOVEMENT ERRATIC OR LONG DELAY BETWEEN SWITCH PRESS AND WINDOW MOVEMENT (UP TO 15 SECONDS).

2. COURTESY LAMPS STAY ON WITH DOOR CLOSED.

3. DOOR AJAR MESSAGE IS DISPLAYED WHEN DOOR IS CLOSED.

4. RADIO CONTINUES TO PLAY AFTER DOOR IS OPENED.

5. PASSENGER WINDOW(S) GO DOWN WITHOUT BEING COMMANDED, THEN WILL NOT RESPOND TO SWITCH.

6. PASSENGER MIRROR DRIFTS UP.

CORRECTION:

THE ABOVE SYMPTOMS MAY BE CORRECTED BY REPLACING ALL DOOR MODULES.

IMPORTANT:

ALL FOUR DOOR MODULES MUST BE REPLACED WHEN SERVICING FOR ANY OF THESE CONDITIONS SINCE THE NEW SOFTWARE IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH THE OLD SOFTWARE.
