The Navigation Display Module determines a majority of diagnostic failures. The Navigation Display Module sends the Navigation Data Processor a Diagnostic Memory Report when running through System Inspection Mode. This information includes Diagnostic Trouble Codes stored in a log by the Navigation Display Module. These failures occurred during normal operation and were reported to the Navigation Display Module for storage in this log.
Navigation Display Module is running through System Inspection Mode.
• | No response from the Navigation Data Processor when requested by the Navigation Display Module despite successful communication initialization. |
• | The Navigation Display Module is unable to receive the command from the Navigation Data Processor after a regular number of retry requests. |
• | An invalid Chip Bus Request signal from the Navigation Data Processor. |
• | The Navigation Display Module is unable to receive the Chip Bus Request signal from the Navigation Data Processor despite successful communication initialization. |
• | ROM abnormality. |
• | RAM abnormality. |
• | Speed Sensor abnormality. |
• | Gyroscope abnormality. |
• | Internal Communication Error. |
• | GPS ROM abnormality. |
• | GPS RAM abnormality. |
• | GPS Real Time Clock (RTC) abnormality. |
• | GPS Satellite Signal Demodulator abnormality. |
• | GPS TCXO abnormality. |
• | GPS PLL Lock abnormality. |
• | No connection with Audio ECU appears on the screen if DTC was set due to no response from the Navigation Data Processor when requested by the Navigation Display Module despite successful communication initialization. |
• | No connection with Audio ECU appears on the screen if DTC was set due to the Navigation Display Module being unable to receive the command from the Navigation Data Processor after a regular number of retry requests. |
• | No connection with Audio ECU appears on the screen if DTC was set due to an invalid Chip Bus Request signal from the Navigation Data Processor. |
• | Current location mark on the display will not move if DTC was set due to a Speed Sensor abnormality. |
• | Unable to follow the route when making turns if DTC was set due to a Gyroscope abnormality. |
• | The display will black out or be unable to change to NAV related display if DTC was set due to an Internal Communication error. |
• | Unable to get GPS location if DTC was set due to a GPS ROM abnormality. |
• | Unable to get GPS location if DTC was set due to a GPS RAM abnormality. |
• | Needs a sufficient amount of time to become ready if DTC was set due to a GPS RTC abnormality. |
• | Unable to get GPS location if DTC was set due to a GPS Standard Clock abnormality. |
• | Unable to get GPS location if DTC was set due to a GPS Satellite Signal Demodulator abnormality. |
• | Unable to get GPS location if DTC was set due to a GPS TCXO abnormality. |
• | Unable to get GPS location if DTC was set due to a GPS PLL Lock abnormality. |
• | This failure will have no effect outside the Navigation System. |
• | A current DTC will clear when the Navigation Display Module does not detect the failure during the last execution of the System Inspection Mode. |
• | A history DTC will clear using a scan tool. |
• | An intermittent may be caused by the following: |
- | Mis-routed harness |
- | Rubbed through wire insulation |
- | Broken wire inside the insulation |
• | Cycle the Ignition Switch even after a successful inspection with a scan tool so initialization will occur. |
• | DTC B1000 will not set if DTC B1328, DTC B1327, or DTC U2150 is current. |
The number(s) below refer to the step number(s) on the diagnostic table.
Determines if the malfunction is present.
Checks circuit 817 for a short to B+ condition.
Checks circuit 817 for a short to ground condition.
Determines if the malfunction is due to an internal fault in the Navigation Display Module or an open condition in circuit 817.
