Problem

Action

The power steering gear inlet (pressure) hose is grounding out.

  1. Check for proper mounting and clearance.
  2. Adjust for proper mounting and clearance.

The rack bearing adjust is loose.

Torque the rack bearing to 30 N·m (44 lb ft).

The steering gear is loose.

Torque the steering gear mounting bolts to 120 N·m (89 lb ft).

The tie rod ends are loose.

  1. Inspect the tie rod ends.
  2. Replace the tie rod ends as needed.

The intermediate shaft universal joints are loose.

Service and/or replace as needed.
