The programmer is used to control the operation of the HVAC system. The programmer is contained within the heater and A/C control assembly. The heater and A/C control assembly allows the vehicle operator to communicate with the programmer or Instrument Panel Integration Module (IPM). The IPM is the component which monitors the HVAC system status and can adjust to meet the requirement set by the operator of the vehicle. The heater and A/C control includes buttons to select operating modes, a fan speed increase/decrease switch, the rear defog control button, and a vacuum fluorescent display panel. When the parklamps or headlamps are turned on, the buttons are illuminated. The temperature for the driver and passenger is controlled individually by two separate knobs.
