DEFINITION: The ambient air temperature displayed on driver information center control is inaccurate. No DTCs are set by the instrument panel module (IPM).

  1. The engine must be cool.
  2. Install the scan tool.
  3. Display the ambient air temperature.

Does the temperature displayed on the scan tool match the temperature displayed on the control assembly?

  1. Remove the ambient air temperature sensor.
  2. Measure resistance of the sensor. Refer to Sensor Resistance Table

Is the resistance measured with the specified value listed in the table?

Replace the ambient air temperature sensor. Refer to Ambient Temperature Sensor Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 5

  1. Inspect the IPM for proper terminal connection.
  2. If the terminal connection is OK, replace the IPM. Refer to Instrument Panel Module Replacement .
