Did you perform the Lighting System Diagnostic System Check?

  1. Disconnect the suspect backup lamp connector.
  2. Connect a DMM from the suspect backup lamp connector cavity A (LT GRN) to ground.
  3. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  4. Place the gear selector lever in the REVERSE position.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

Connect a DMM from the suspect backup lamp connector cavity A (LT GRN) to cavity G (BLK).

Is the voltage within specified range?

10-15 V

Replace the suspect backup lamp. Refer to Backup Lamp Replacement .

Is the backup lamp replacement complete?

Go to Step 7

Repair the open in CKT 24 (LT GRN) between S410 and the suspect backup lamp. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the circuit repair complete?

Go to Step 7

Repair the open in CKT 850 (BLK) between S413 and the suspect backup lamp. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the circuit repair complete?

--

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
