Did you perform the Lighting Systems Diagnostic System Check?

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  2. Connect a scan tool to the data link connector (DLC).
  3. Select INPUTS from the dash integration module (DIM) DATA DISPLAY.
  4. Place the headlamp switch in the PARK position.

Does the scan tool indicate that the Park Lamps Switch was ON?

Do the headlamps operate properly?

Backprobe the rear fuse block connector C1 with a DMM from battery positive voltage (B+) to cavity F3 (WHT).

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

Replace the PRK LP Relay.

Do all park lamps now operate properly?

Replace the rear fuse block. Refer to Rear Electrical Center or Junction Block Replacement in Wiring Systems.

Is the rear fuse block replacement complete?

Go to Step 19

Backprobe the headlamp switch connector with a DMM from battery positive voltage (B+) to cavity A8 (BRN/WHT).

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

  1. Disconnect the dash integration module (DIM) connector C2.
  2. Disconnect the headlamp switch connector.
  3. Backprobe CKT 301 (BRN/WHT) with a DMM from the DIM connector C2 cavity B3 (BRN/WHT) to the headlamp switch connector cavity A8 (BRN/WHT).

Is the resistance less than the specified value?

0.5 ohms

Repair the open in CKT 301 (BRN/WHT) between the dash integration module (DIM) and the headlamp switch. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the circuit repair complete?

Go to Step 19

Backprobe the headlamp switch connector with a DMM from battery positive voltage (B+) to cavity A2 (BLK/WHT).

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

Go to Step 11

Replace the headlamp switch. Refer to Headlamp Switch Replacement .

Is the headlamp switch replacement complete?

Repair the open in CKT 351 (BLK/WHT) between the headlamp switch and S212. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the circuit repair complete?

--

Go to Step 19

Backprobe the rear fuse block connector C1 with a DMM from cavity D4 (DK GRN) to ground.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

  1. Remove the PRK LP relay from the rear fuse block.
  2. Disconnect the dash integration module (DIM) connector C1.
  3. Backprobe CKT 1483 (DK GRN) with a DMM from the rear fuse block connector C1 cavity D4 (DK GRN) to the DIM connector C1 cavity B8 (DK GRN).

Is the resistance less than the specified value?

0.5 ohms

  1. Remove the PRK LP relay from the rear fuse block.
  2. Disconnect the dash integration module (DIM) connector C1.
  3. Backprobe CKT 1080 (WHT) with a DMM from the rear fuse block connector C1 cavity F3 (WHT) to the DIM connector C1 cavity B5 (WHT).

Is the resistance less than the specified value?

0.5 ohms

Replace the dash integration module (DIM). Refer to Dash Integration Module Replacement in Body Control System.

Is the DIM replacement complete?

Repair the open in CKT 1483 (DK GRN) between the rear fuse block and the DIM. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the circuit repair complete?

Repair the open in CKT 1080 (WHT) between the rear fuse block and the DIM. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the circuit repair complete?

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
