Did you perform the Lighting Systems Diagnostic System Check?

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Disconnect the instrument panel integration module (IPM).
  3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  4. Using a DMM, measure the voltage between the 54V VF display supply circuit and a good ground.

Does the voltage measure near the specified value?

54 V

Go to Step 5

Test the 54V VF display supply circuit for the following conditions:

    • An open
    • A short to ground
    • A high resistance

Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the instrument cluster (IPC). Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the instrument panel integration module (IPM). Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the instrument cluster (IPC). Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
