Did you perform the Lighting System Diagnostic System Check?

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  2. Connect a scan tool to the data link connector (DLC).
  3. Select INPUTS from the instrument panel integration module (IPM) DATA DISPLAY.
  4. Operate the front fog lamp switch.

Does the scan tool indicate that the switch is ON when operated and OFF when inactive?

  1. Place the front fog lamp switch in the ON position.
  2. Backprobe the underhood fuse block connector C2 with a DMM from battery positive voltage (B+) to cavity C11 (DK GRN/WHT).

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

Go to Step 4

Replace the FOG LP Relay.

Do both front fog lamps now operate properly?

Replace the underhood fuse block . Refer to Underhood Electrical Center or Junction Block Replacement in Wiring Systems..

Is the underhood fuse block replacement complete?

--

Go to Step 14

  1. Remove the FOG LP relay from the underhood fuse block.
  2. Disconnect the dash integration module connector C1.
  3. Backprobe with a DMM from the underhood fuse block connector C2 cavity C11 (DK GRN/WHT) to the DIM connector C1 cavity  A7 (DK GRN/WHT).

Is the resistance less than the specified value?

0.5 ohms

Go to Step 7

Replace the dash integration module (DIM). Refer to Dash Integration Module Replacement in Body Control System.

Is the DIM replacement complete?

  1. Backprobe the headlamp switch connector with a DMM from battery positive voltage (B+) to cavity A1 (ORN).
  2. Press the front fog lamp switch.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

Repair the open in CKT 192 (ORN) between the IPM and the headlamp switch. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the circuit repair complete?

Backprobe the headlamp switch connector with a DMM from battery positive voltage (B+) to cavity A2 (BLK/WHT).

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

Go to Step 11

Replace the headlamp switch. Refer to Headlamp Switch Replacement .

Is the headlamp switch replacement complete?

Go to Step 14

Repair the open in CKT 351 (BLK/WHT) between the headlamp switch and S212. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the circuit repair complete?

--

Go to Step 14

Repair the open in CKT 1317 (DK GRN/WHT) between the underhood fuse block and the DIM. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the circuit repair complete?

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
