Did you review the Wiper/Washer System Description and Operation and perform the necessary inspections?

  1. Disconnect the harness connector from the wiper motor.
  2. Turn the ignition to RUN.
  3. Set the wiper switch to HI.
  4. Connect a J 35616-200 from the wiper motor connector (harness side), terminal D, to ground.

Is the test light on?

  1. Turn the ignition OFF.
  2. Remove the wiper motor cover. Refer to Wiper Motor Cover Replacement . Observe the position of wiper motor cover terminal T1.
  3. Connect a jumper from the wiper motor housing to ground.
  4. Connect a fused jumper (10 amp) from battery voltage to the wiper motor terminal that connects to wiper motor cover terminal T1.

Did the wiper motor operate?

Replace the wiper motor cover. Refer to Wiper Motor Cover Replacement .

Is the replacement complete?

Go to Step 9

Replace the wiper motor. Refer to Windshield Wiper Motor Replacement .

Inspect for an open in CKT 92.

Is an open present?

Repair the open in CKT 92.

Is the repair complete?

Replace the wiper/washer switch. Refer to Multifunction Turn Signal Lever Replacement - On Vehicle .

Is the replacement complete?

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
