  1. Turn the ignition switch to RUN.
  2. Move the wiper switch to all positions and then to OFF.
  3. Disconnect connector C202 from the wiper/washer switch connector.

Are the wipers still operating?

Inspect for a short to voltage in the pigtail wires leading to the wiper/washer switch.

Was a short to voltage found?

Repair the short to voltage in the wiper/washer switch pigtail wires.

Replace the wiper/washer switch. Refer to Multifunction Turn Signal Lever Replacement - On Vehicle .

Turn the ignition OFF and then back to RUN.

Are the wipers still operating?

Replace the wiper motor cover. Refer to Wiper Motor Cover Replacement .

Measure the voltage from connector 202 (vehicle side), terminal A5, to ground using a J 39200 .

Is the measurement greater than the specified value?

1.0 V

  1. Reconnect connector 202 to the wiper/washer switch connector.
  2. Disconnect the harness connector from the wiper motor.
  3. Measure the voltage from the wiper motor connector (vehicle side) terminal G to ground using a J 39200 .

Is the measurement greater than the specified value?

1.0 V

Replace the wiper motor cover. Refer to Wiper Motor Cover Replacement .

Is the replacement complete?

Repair the short to voltage in CKT 478.

Is the repair complete?

Measure the voltage from the connector C202 (vehicle side), terminal D3, to ground using a J 39200 .

Is the measurement greater than the specified value?

1.0 V

  1. Reconnect connector C202 to the wiper/washer switch connector.
  2. Disconnect the harness connector from the wiper motor.
  3. Measure the voltage from the wiper motor connector (harness side), terminal D, to ground using a J 39200 .

Is the measurement within the specified values?

10.5-15 V

Repair the short to voltage in CKT 92.
