Did you perform the Radio/Audio System Diagnostic System Check?

  1. Install a scan tool.
  2. With a scan tool, perform a speaker test on each speaker.

Does each speaker operate properly?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections .

Do all speakers on one side of the vehicle malfunction, but the speakers on the other side operate properly?

  1. Turn ON the ignition.
  2. Turn ON the radio.
  3. Measure AC voltage from the radio feed circuit to the radio return circuit of the inoperative channel, at the radio amplifier.

When music is playing, is any voltage measured?

Test the radio output circuits of the inoperative channel for an open, short or high resistance. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Does the vehicle have BOSE (RPO UX9) and the right channel is inoperative?

Test the circuits of the RH rear door speaker for a short. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

  1. Turn ON the ignition.
