Did you perform the Radio/Audio System Diagnostic System Check?

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Insert a CD magazine with at least 1 audio CD into the CD player.
  3. Turn on the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  4. Turn ON the radio.
  5. Play the CD in the CD player.

Does the remote CD player play on both the left and right channels?

  1. Disconnect the CD player.
  2. Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the CD player. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

  1. Disconnect the radio amplifier.
  2. Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the radio amplifier. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test the appropriate (left or right) audio output for an open, short or high resistance. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
