Did you perform the Cigar Lighter/Auxiliary Outlets Diagnostic System Check?

Operate the front cigar lighter.

Does the cigar lighter operate normally?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

Inspect the C/LTR fuse for an open.

Is the fuse open?

Go to Step 15

  1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  2. Connect a test lamp between the supply voltage circuit of the C/LTR fuse and a good ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 9

Inspect the CIGAR fuse in the Rear Fuse Block for an open.

Is the fuse open?

Go to Step 16

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Remove the cigar relay.
  3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  4. Connect a test lamp between the coil feed circuit of the cigar relay and a good ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Connect a test lamp between control circuit of the cigar relay and the coil feed circuit of the cigar relay.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Connect a test lamp between battery positive voltage circuit of the cigar relay and a good ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 12

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Disconnect the front cigar lighter harness connector.
  3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  4. Connect a test lamp between the supply voltage circuit of the front cigar lighter and ground circuit of the front cigar lighter.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Connect a test lamp between the supply voltage circuit of the front cigar lighter and a good ground.

Test the control circuit of the cigar relay for an open or short to battery voltage. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
