Did you perform Diagnostic System Check - Navigation System ?

Go to Step 2

Go to Diagnostic System Check - Navigation System

1. Turn ON the ignition. The Cadillac emblem screen appears on the navigation display head (NDH).
2. Leave the vehicle in PARK.
3. Press the audio MENU button on the NDH. The audio menu appears on the display.
4. Press the TV button on the NDH audio menu screen. (This button is present with UE7 only.)
5. Select a TV station. The TV should be clear on the NDH display.
6. Connect a VCR to the auxiliary RCA video jacks.
7. Select AUX VIDEO under the TV SELECTIONS menu options.
8. Observe the display. The VCR selection should appear on the NDH. The picture and audio should be clear.

Does the system operate normally?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

Test the operation of the TV in the navigation display head (NDH).

Does the TV operate correctly?

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 10

Test the auxiliary video low signal circuit for an open or a short. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 11

Go to Step 5

Test the auxiliary video high signal circuit for an open or a short. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 11

Go to Step 6

Test for a short from the auxiliary video high signal circuit to the auxiliary video low signal circuit. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 11

Go to Step 7

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the auxiliary RCA video jacks. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 11

Go to Step 8

Replace the auxiliary RCA video jacks. Refer to Auxiliary Audio/Video Input Control Replacement in Entertainment.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 11

Go to Step 9

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the navigation display head (NDH). Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 11

Go to Step 10

Replace the navigation display head (NDH). Refer to Navigation Display Module Replacement in Entertainment.

Did you complete the replacement?

Go to Step 11

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.

System OK
