Inside Rearview Mirror Replacement Spring Clip Mount
Removal Procedure
Notice: Do not use tools or other objects to pry the mirror mount or the mirror
away from the windshield. Using tools may damage the mirror mount, the mirror
or the windshield.
- Remove the rearview mirror
wire cover (3).
- Disconnect the electrical connectors (1) at the rear of
the mirror (2).
- Using both hands, grasp both sides of the mirror (2) at
the top.
Pull the rearview mirror (2) downward, while twisting simultaneously,
in order to release the rearview mirror from the support button.
Installation Procedure
- Position the bottom of
the mirror base against the windshield at the top of the support button (4).
- Slide the base onto the support button (4).
Maintain the base parallel to the windshield.
- Hold the base firmly against the windshield, pulling downward
in order to engage the base onto the support button (4). An audible
click will be heard as the base snaps onto the support.
This operation requires at least 20 pounds of force.
- Ensure that the mirror assembly is securely attached to the support
button (4) by moving the mirror in a normal up/down and side to side
range.
- Connect the electrical connectors (1).
- Install the rearview mirror wire cover (3).
- Calibrate the mirror compass. Refer to
Compass Calibration Description
.
Inside Rearview Mirror Replacement Set Screw Mount
Removal Procedure
- Remove the wire cover.
- Disconnect the electrical
connector (2) from the back of the mirror.
- Adjust the rearview mirror (1) to the full upward position.
- Remove the base trim cover.
- Loosen the set screw (3) at the mirror base.
- Slide the rearview mirror assembly (1) upward in order
to remove the rearview mirror assembly (1) from the mirror button.
Installation Procedure
- Position the center bottom
of the rearview mirror (1) against the windshield at the top of the
support button.
- Slide the base of the rearview mirror (1) onto the button.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Hand tighten the
set screw (3).
Tighten
Tighten the set screw to 1.8 N·m (16 lb in)
in order to secure the mirror base to the button.
- Install the base trim cover.
- Connect the electrical connector (2).
- Install the wire cover.
- Reposition the mirror assembly.
- Calibrate the mirror compass. Refer to
Compass Calibration Description
