Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.

  2. Object Number: 105170  Size: SH
  3. Remove the push-in retainers (2) retaining the rear bumper fascia (1) to the body (1).
  4. Remove the rear wheelhouse extensions. Refer to Wheelhouse Extension Replacement - Rear in Exterior Trim.

  5. Object Number: 539778  Size: SH
  6. Remove the bolt (3) retaining the rear bumper fascia (2) at the wheelhouse opening.
  7. Lower the vehicle.
  8. Open the rear compartment lid.
  9. Remove the rear compartment side trim panels. Refer to Rear Compartment Side Trim Replacement - Left Side and Rear Compartment Side Trim Replacement - Right Side in Body Rear End.
  10. Remove the bolts (1) retaining the rear bumper fascia (2) to the quarter panels.

  12. Remove the nuts (2) retaining the rear bumper fascia (1) to the vehicle.
  13. Disconnect the Ultrasonic Rear Park Assist harness connector on the passenger side of rear bumper fascia.
  14. Remove the rear bumper fascia (1) from the vehicle.
  15. Remove the Rear Object Sensor Assemblies from the rear bumper fascia. Refer to Rear Object Sensor Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the Rear Object Sensor Assemblies into the rear bumper fascia. Refer to Rear Object Sensor Replacement in Instrument Panels, Gauges and Consoles.

  2. Object Number: 105165  Size: SH
  3. Install the rear bumper fascia (1) to the vehicle.
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the nuts (2) to retain the rear bumper fascia (1) to the vehicle.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  7. Connect Ultrasonic Rear Park Assist electrical connector at the right hand side of the rear bumper fascia.

  8. Object Number: 539778  Size: SH
  9. Install the bolts (1) to retain the rear bumper fascia (2) to the quarter panels.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  11. Install the rear compartment side trim panels. Refer to Rear Compartment Side Trim Replacement - Left Side and Rear Compartment Side Trim Replacement - Right Side in Body Rear End.
  12. Close the rear compartment lid.
  13. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  14. Install the bolt (3) retaining the rear bumper fascia (2) at the wheelhouse opening.
  15. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  16. Install the rear wheelhouse extensions. Refer to Wheelhouse Extension Replacement - Rear .
  17. Install the push-in retainers (2) retaining the rear bumper fascia (1) to the body (1).
  18. Lower the vehicle.
