Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check -Power Seat Systems?

  1. Install a scan tool.
  2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  3. With a scan tool, observe the Memory Recall Switches parameter in the Driver Door Switch data list.
  4. Activate the memory SET button.

Does the scan tool display Set?

  1. With a scan tool, observe the Memory Recall Switches parameter.
  2. Activate the EXIT button.

Does the scan tool display Exit?

  1. Disconnect the memory function switch harness connector.
  2. With a scan tool, observe the Memory Recall Switches parameter.
  3. Momentarily connect a 3 amp fused jumper wire between the memory set circuit of the memory function switch connector and a good ground.

Does the scan tool display Set?

  1. With a scan tool, observe the Memory Recall Switches parameter.
  2. Momentarily connect a 3 amp fused jumper wire between the memory set circuit of the memory function switch connector and the ground circuit of the switch connector.

Does the scan tool display Set?

  1. Disconnect the memory function switch harness connector.
  2. With a scan tool observe the Memory Recall Switches parameter.
  3. Momentarily connect a 3 amp fused jumper wire between the 1 circuit of the memory function switch connector and a good ground.

Does the scan tool display Memory 1?

5 ohms

  1. With a scan tool, observe the Memory Recall Switches parameter.
  2. Momentarily connect a 3 amp fused jumper wire between the 2 circuit of the memory function switch connector and a good ground.

Does the scan tool display Memory 2?

5 ohms

Test the memory set circuit of the memory function switch for an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test the 1 circuit of the memory function switch for an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test the 2 circuit of the memory function switch for an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the driver door switch assembly. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the memory function switch. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Repair the open in the ground circuit of the memory function switch. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
