Engine Mount Replacement Right

Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the right front wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  3. Support the engine assembly with a suitable jack.

  4. Object Number: 105771  Size: SH
  5. Remove the nut securing the engine mount to the engine mount bracket.

  6. Object Number: 154972  Size: SH
  7. Lower the jack allowing the engine to lower slightly.
  8. Remove the nut (4) and bolt (1) securing the mount to the rail.
  9. Remove the two nuts (3) securing the mount to the rail.
  10. Remove the mount (2).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 154972  Size: SH
  1. Position the mount (2) to the rail.
  2. Install the mount attaching bolt (1) and nut (4) to the rail.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the two nuts (3) securing the mount to the rail.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts (3,4) to 70 N·m (52 lb ft).

  6. Raise the engine into position.

  8. Install the nut to the mount and mount bracket.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the mount nut to 80 N·m (59 lb ft).

  10. Remove the engine support jack.
  11. Install the right front wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  12. Lower the vehicle.

Removal Procedure

Tools Required

    • J 42504 Engine Lift Bracket
    • J 28467-A Engine Support Fixture
    • J 42478 Engine Support Fixture Adapters

  1. Remove the radiator cooling fans. Refer to Engine Coolant Fan Motor Replacement in Engine Cooling.
  2. Install the J 42504 .

  3. Object Number: 333132  Size: SH
  4. Install the J 42478 .

  5. Object Number: 333115  Size: SH
  6. Install the J 28467-A .
  7. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.

  8. Object Number: 105512  Size: SH
  9. Remove the two nuts securing the mount bracket to the engine block.
  10. Remove the bolt securing the brace to the transaxle.

  11. Object Number: 105510  Size: SH
  12. Remove the nut securing the mount to the frame.
  13. Lower the vehicle.
  14. Remove the two upper bolts securing the engine mount bracket to the engine.
  15. Remove the mount and the bracket.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 105512  Size: SH
  1. Install the mount and bracket.
  2. Loosely install the two upper bolts securing the mount bracket to the engine.
  3. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  4. Install the engine support brace.
  5. Loosely install the two nuts securing the support brace and the bolt to the support brace.
  6. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  7. Install the nut securing the mount to the frame.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts and bolts in the following sequence:

    6.1. Tighten the mount bracket left nut to 41 N·m (30 lb ft).
    6.2. Tighten the mount bracket right nut to 41 N·m (30 lb ft).
    6.3. Tighten the engine brace bolt to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).
    6.4. Tighten the mount nut to 70 N·m (52 lb ft).
    6.5. Tighten the two upper mount brace bolts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  9. Lower the vehicle.
  10. Remove the J 28467-A .

  11. Object Number: 333131  Size: SH
  12. Remove the J 42478 .

  13. Object Number: 333114  Size: SH
  14. Remove the J 42504 .
  15. Install the radiator cooling fans. Refer to Engine Coolant Fan Motor Replacement in Engine Cooling.
